Full review — still the uncontested king?
Performance: The RTX 4090 remains the fastest consumer graphics card in 2025. At 4K, it delivers well over 100 fps in even the most demanding titles with ray tracing maxed out. Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing? Playable above 60 fps without DLSS 3.5 – a feat no other card can match.
Thermals & noise: The Founders Edition cooler is surprisingly efficient. Under full load it stays around 70°C with a quiet hum. Third-party models run even cooler. But you’ll need a spacious case.
Power consumption: This is the main drawback. The 4090 can draw up to 500W in heavy workloads. Ensure your PSU is at least 850W (1000W recommended). For gamers coming from previous gen, expect higher electricity bills.
DLSS 3.5 and ray reconstruction: NVIDIA’s AI magic makes a huge difference. Image quality is crisp, and frame generation smooths out motion. It’s the best upscaling implementation available.
